Posts in the Babies category are just that. They’re about newborns, infants, and toddlers. These posts cover anything and everything from nerdy outfits, baby gear, how babies develop, learning activities such as books and apps, and more!

What is the difference between a baby, a newborn, an infant, and a toddler? I learned that:

  • Babies covers all the subcategories of newborns, infants, and toddlers, or 0 months to 4 years.
  • Babies are considered newborns from 0-2 months
  • Infants range from 2 months to one year
  • Toddlers range from one year to three to four years, depending on who you ask

And of course, beyond that point, they just become kids! Or at least until they are adolescents, pre-teens, teens… Now I need to make a timeline!

Infant Visual Development

Your baby's eyes and neural circuits continue to develop after birth. This is why your baby will have to develop visual acuity (ability to see detail), tracking, color perception, depth perception, and object recognition. By 6 months, their vision is almost as good as an adult's.
